This week we’ll be involved in some great events for great causes, and we hope you’ll join us in supporting them. (more…)
We were totally bummed when rain forced us to postpone Fibered Up, our live yarnbombing event with West Philly mixed media artist Bonnie MacAllister last month for First Friday. But that feeling didn’t last long because we rescheduled it for the perfect day — Ardmore Open House on Saturday, Sept. 20 from 12-4 p.m. (more…)
When I first met Doylestown native Bonnie MacAllister more than two years ago, she was helping me curate an art exhibition in the Mantua section of West Philadelphia for an online publication I was editing. I soon learned that MacAllister knew anyone who mattered in the Philly art scene, and that she’s also a prolific performer, writer and maker.
Since we opened The Tasting Room, her and her husband Victor have been big supporters of our seasonal cafe, and we’re proud to exhibit her talents on one of the Ardmore’s biggest art stages, First Friday Main Line, on Aug. 1 from 5-7:30 p.m. (more…)
Cynwyd Station Park has seen lots of activity in recent months thanks to the Cynwyd Station Cafe and Tea Room, a Victorian- and sustainability-inspired hub for the renovated and historic SEPTA stop at the end of the line in Bala Cynwyd, which opened earlier this year.
We’re excited to join in the fun this Saturday, 7/19 for an evening of Motown music, top-notch food and ice cream — a classic combination befitting the joy that is Bala in the summertime. The event will raise funds for the Friends of Cynwyd Station Park, which helps maintain, improve and keep active the space. The park has hosted craft/plant sales, yoga and community cleanups.
A $10 donation gets you access to the sweet sounds of Steve Jackson, Joe Mack and the Versatiles, who will belt out Motown tunes. There will also be a wide variety of ice cream and other sweet treats courtesy of the Cynwyd Station Cafe and Tea Room, some grilled goodies and we’ll be providing lots of great sides, veggies and savory snacks like our Tabouli Salad, Kale Salad, Succotash, Kale Chips and more.
For more info, stay connected to the Cynwyd Station Cafe and Tea Room’s Facebook page.
During a time of many milestones, our 2 year-old son recently added another to the list. He checked out his first library book at the Ardmore Free Library on Ardmore Ave. The library, one of the finest in the Philadelphia suburbs, mesmerized our little guy, and he was so excited to check out his book on cars.
Reconnecting with the library through our son reminded us that it’s so important to support such a vital community institution. So we were thrilled when asked to support the library’s main fundraiser, its 9th annual Kitchen Tour on Sunday, April 27 from 1-4 p.m. (more…)
One of our favorite days of the year is Earth Day, and for the last five years, we’ve spent it at NarbEarth Day at the Narberth Playground.
This year marks the event’s 25th anniversary, and once again we’ll be there to serve up great things from our giant grill, as well as tasty sides, sweets and drinks. (more…)
No one has ever confused a law office with an art gallery, but a group of talented ladies at the top of their respective professions are merging a high-rise legal operation with an artist whose work centers on the hustle and bustle of daily life. (more…)
What’s one week before Halloween and involves sustainable food?
If you said Food Day, a nationwide celebration and movement for healthy, affordable and sustainable food observed on Oct. 24, you wouldn’t be wrong.
But if you said Taste of Ardmore – Food & Fashion, the annual celebration of local food and restuarants hosted by the good folks at Ardmore Toyota and organized by the Ardmore Initiative, you’d be right on the money. (more…)
They say The Masters, held last weekend, is a tradition unlike any other. That might be true if you turn a blind eye to Augusta National’s legacy of racism and sexism. In our minds, a true tradition is one worth maintaining, and we’re super excited to be heading back to our annual Earth Day tradition — the NarbEarth Day celebration. (more…)
In honor of National Siblings Day this week (it was on April 10), we’re excited to announce an exclusive, VIP event that will feature some amazing pairings. Jennifer’s brother Ian Boston McCafferty, co-founder of The Dashing Rogue, is teaming with JPM Catering on a Deconstructed Dinner Party to benefit the Main Line Art Center. (more…)
