We weren’t even open at our new location in Ardmore’s Historic District when we experienced our first Taste of Ardmore last year, but instantly fell in love with the annual event that has brought together Ardmore’s finest foods and fashions since 2009.
We’re especially excited for this year’s Taste of Ardmore on Oct. 30, as it’s being billed as the best ever, with only the best dishes, drinks, sweets and looks from Ardmore’s ever-growing business community.
With the addition of yours truly and places like Iron Hill Brewery, Fuel, Not Your Average Joe’s, and Tired Hands’ expansion, Ardmore’s dining scene is becoming a delicious destination.
Next time you stop in to The Tasting Room and make a purchase, give us your email to be entered in a drawing to win two tickets (an $80 value) to this year’s Taste of Ardmore at Ardmore Toyota on Lancaster Ave. We’ll announce the winners on Monday, Oct. 27.
You can also buy advance tickets here.
On a SEPTA Regional Rail map, the Cynwyd Station is the end of the line in Montgomery County not far from the Philadelphia city limits. But in reality, the Cynwyd Station is just the beginning, for those who seek to enjoy nature, good health, arts and entertainment and great taste.
JPM Catering is excited to be a small part of those pursuits starting on Monday, when our food will be available for purchase at the Cynwyd Station Cafe, a totally unique and well-appointed tea room that serves the finest and most curious foodstuffs and retail items. The cafe opened earlier this year and has quickly gained a foothold as one of the Main Line’s most interesting and delicious places.
Cafe customers can enjoy our soup, salads, quiche, kale chips and chocolate oat bars. The soups, salads and quiche will change seasonally.
There are plenty of reasons to stop by the Cynwyd Station Cafe. Proprietor Sadie Francis is always lining up a bevvy of events, including tarot readings, yoga, jazz performances, and nature education sessions. On Monday, the cafe will host a book signing with Cristin O’Keefe, author of a book uncovering the Mutter Museum in Philadelphia.
We enjoyed the cafe in August for a Motown Music Saturday fundraiser for the Friends of the Cynwyd Trail, which is charged with tending to the beautiful, grassy and tree-filled park adjacent to the cafe. We’ve also purchased some items from the cafe’s eclectic retail collection, including totally sustainable water bottles and awesome composition books.
If you haven’t already, we hope you’ll soon check out the Cynwyd Station Cafe. We think you’ll find it as delciious as we do.
JPM Catering’s food is also available at the Lulu’s Casita play cafe in Ardmore.
We were totally bummed when rain forced us to postpone Fibered Up, our live yarnbombing event with West Philly mixed media artist Bonnie MacAllister last month for First Friday. But that feeling didn’t last long because we rescheduled it for the perfect day — Ardmore Open House on Saturday, Sept. 20 from 12-4 p.m. (more…)
If you’re like me — tired of sweating and hungry for football season — then you’re getting ready to bid adieu to the summer and go foliage chasing. It’s also time to start thinking about our Autumn Menu at The Tasting Room. (more…)
When I first met Doylestown native Bonnie MacAllister more than two years ago, she was helping me curate an art exhibition in the Mantua section of West Philadelphia for an online publication I was editing. I soon learned that MacAllister knew anyone who mattered in the Philly art scene, and that she’s also a prolific performer, writer and maker.
Since we opened The Tasting Room, her and her husband Victor have been big supporters of our seasonal cafe, and we’re proud to exhibit her talents on one of the Ardmore’s biggest art stages, First Friday Main Line, on Aug. 1 from 5-7:30 p.m. (more…)
Cynwyd Station Park has seen lots of activity in recent months thanks to the Cynwyd Station Cafe and Tea Room, a Victorian- and sustainability-inspired hub for the renovated and historic SEPTA stop at the end of the line in Bala Cynwyd, which opened earlier this year.
We’re excited to join in the fun this Saturday, 7/19 for an evening of Motown music, top-notch food and ice cream — a classic combination befitting the joy that is Bala in the summertime. The event will raise funds for the Friends of Cynwyd Station Park, which helps maintain, improve and keep active the space. The park has hosted craft/plant sales, yoga and community cleanups.
A $10 donation gets you access to the sweet sounds of Steve Jackson, Joe Mack and the Versatiles, who will belt out Motown tunes. There will also be a wide variety of ice cream and other sweet treats courtesy of the Cynwyd Station Cafe and Tea Room, some grilled goodies and we’ll be providing lots of great sides, veggies and savory snacks like our Tabouli Salad, Kale Salad, Succotash, Kale Chips and more.
For more info, stay connected to the Cynwyd Station Cafe and Tea Room’s Facebook page.
Since Jennifer McCafferty started JPM Catering out of her home kitchen in 2009, sustainability has been at the forefront of the company’s operations. JPM’s seasonal approach, composting kitchen scraps, sourcing food locally and naturally, using compostable disposable serviceware and designing menus and decor that minimize waste has helped change how Greater Philadelphia thinks about food and events. As JPM has grown, it has emerged as a green leader in an industry known for waste and excess. That’s why the Main Line Chamber of Commerce approached JPM to join an esteemed panel of speakers for its Sustainability: Eating, Exercise & Environment conference at Agnes Irwin School on Tuesday, May 13 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. (more…)
During a time of many milestones, our 2 year-old son recently added another to the list. He checked out his first library book at the Ardmore Free Library on Ardmore Ave. The library, one of the finest in the Philadelphia suburbs, mesmerized our little guy, and he was so excited to check out his book on cars.
Reconnecting with the library through our son reminded us that it’s so important to support such a vital community institution. So we were thrilled when asked to support the library’s main fundraiser, its 9th annual Kitchen Tour on Sunday, April 27 from 1-4 p.m. (more…)
